On Friday, 29 July, the French Garden of the Rundāle Palace Museum will host the filming of scenes from Season Two of the German television feature film “Sisi”.
Filming is planned for the first half of the day in the Green Theatre, and for the second half of the day – in the pergola near the Gardener’s House and on one of the side paths of the park where the set-up will start in the early afternoon.
Visitors will not be able to access these areas of the garden at the relevant times due to filming. We apologise for any inconvenience and hope that it will be compensated by the opportunity to see some of the more unusual behind-the-scenes views in the garden!
The film crew returns to Rundāle after a year’s break – last July, episodes of Season One were filmed inside Rundāle Palace.
The serial “Sisi” depicts the life of the Empress Elisabeth of Austria, known as Sisi, in the middle and second half of the 19th century from the point of view of her closest confidants, revealing the multifaceted personality of the Empress.
In Latvia, six episodes of Season One of “Sisi” can be watched on different TV channels. They were filmed at Rundāle Palace, Great and Small Guild Halls, Latvian National Opera, Riga Latvian Society House, Ēdole Castle, Cesvaine Castle and Riga Film Studio.
