Starting from August, construction of a new watering system will begin in the front section of the French garden of Rundāle Palace, namely, in the rose garden and the ornamental parterre.
This work will be carried out over several months, however the garden will remain open to visitors. Restrictions will be minor and localised, therefore they will not create obstacles for enjoying walks in the garden and the resplendent second blooming of roses occurring approximately in mid-August.
This is an important stage of improvements in the Franch garden of Rundāle Palace. The current watering system of the garden has been in operation since the 1970s. It has become outdated and does not meet latest requirements. The new, modern system will significantly facilitate the everyday work of the gardeners and will help to take better care the unique plantings of the garden and to preserve them.
As a result of procurement, the construction work of the watering system will be carried out by BT Būve Ltd, construction supervision – by Somniar Ltd., and author’s supervision will be continued by BM-projekts Ltd.
We would like to thank visitors for understanding and kindly request to comply with the warning signs or delimitations placed in the garden.
