Continuing the popular tradition, at the end of the year, the Rundāle Palace Museum presents a three-dimensional Advent calendar on the Museum’s website. This year’s calendar is dedicated to clocks. The theme was not chosen at random, because December is a contemplative time leading to Christmas, and the clock has long been one of the measuring devices that reminds us of the passage of time.
From 1 to 24 December, three-dimensional photographs will show clocks of different periods, materials and sizes.
Usually, most of the Museum’s exhibits cannot be viewed closely enough to explore the smallest engravings, paintings or formations, so the three-dimensional Advent calendar is a great opportunity to study the Museum’s collection by zooming in and around.
Every day, starting on 1 December, the calendar will reveal one item. The calendar will be available on the Museum’s website until the end of January 2021.
The Museum has been making three-dimensional Advent calendars since 2014 in cooperation with the studio ‘Ocean Multimedia’. Our visitors have already had the opportunity to take a closer look at porcelain and faience items, as well as part of the Museum’s fan collection, lighting fixtures and small household items – boxes, needles and glass bottles.
Have a bright and peaceful Advent time!
