Mežotne Palace sits on the right bank of the Lielupe River, about 70 km from Riga and 10 km from Bauska. Its history is inextricably linked with the noble German-Baltic family of the Lievens. Built in the Classical style, the clarity and elegant simplicity of its architectural forms is further emphasised by the adjacent English-style park. DISCOUNTS
- 50% discount on the entrance fee applied for large families (upon presenting the documents specified in the laws and regulations regarding the procedures for the implementation of the Latvian Honorary Family Certificate programme and the documents certifying the status of a large family or the number of children), including for an individual visit;
- 50% discount on the entrance fee applied on the first Wednesday of each month for seniors, unemployed persons, families (persons) who have been granted the status of a poor or low-income family (person), upon presenting a document certifying the relevant status;
- 30% discount on the entrance fee upon presenting the Donor Privilege Card issued by the State Blood Donor Centre;
- 10% discount on the entrance fee when purchasing the ticket via the Rundāle Palace Museum e-ticketing system.
FREE VISIT
The following categories of visitors shall be exempt from the entrance fee:
- children under the age of seven;
- educators/teachers accompanying a group of pre-schoolers or a group of pupils (at least 10 children or pupils in the group);
- orphans and children without parental care, pupils of day-cares centres, crisis centres and boarding schools, as well as children institutionalised in a social rehabilitation centre (upon presenting document certifying the status) and persons accompanying them (one teacher or one person per 10 children or pupils);
- disabled persons under the age of eighteen, persons with Group I or II disability (upon presenting the disability certificate), and the person accompanying a disabled person under the age of eighteen or a person with Group I disability. The free ticket can be obtained at the ticket office;
- for families taking care of a disabled child or of an adult person who has not reached 24 years of age and for whom Group I or II disability has been determined (upon presenting the Latvian Honorary Family Certificate or a document certifying the disability of the person and the documents specified in the laws and regulations regarding the procedures for the implementation of the Latvian Honorary Family Certificate programme, including for an individual visit. The free ticket can be obtained at the ticket office or on the e-ticket website);
- pupils and students of educational institutions, who are studying restoration, architecture, construction, interior design, horticulture, tourism, history of culture, visual and applied arts, museum science as a part of their educational process (upon presenting a written application by the educational institution);
- for full-time students of the Art Academy of Latvia (upon presenting a corresponding statement from Academy);
- students of Latvian vocational orientation art schools and vocational secondary art schools (upon presenting a student ID);
- Ukrainian civilians;
- employees of Latvian museums (upon presenting a card certifying the status);
- members of the Association of Castles and Museums around the Baltic Sea (upon presenting the membership card);
- members of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) and members of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) (upon presenting the membership card);
- holders of Honorary Card of Rundāle Palace Museum and one accompanying person (upon presenting the Honorary Card and identity document);
- media representatives covering the events in the Palace (upon presenting the press card);
- group (at least 10 visitors) leader (guide);
- organizers of visits promoting the Palace (upon submitting an application of the representative of the organization);
- persons taking part in voluntary work organized by the Palace or Palace area clean-up works (upon submitting a certificate of participation issued by the Rundāle Palace Museum);
- fee for the tour guide permit shall not be applied to the guides who conduct a tour for representatives of mass media covering the events at the Palace (upon presenting the press card) and for the persons who organise visits promoting the Palace (upon submitting an application of the representative of the organisation).
The price list and fee exemptions related to the entrance and other services provided at Mežotne Palace were approved by the Order of the Director of the Rundāle Palace Museum Laura Lūse of 30 May 2025.
